I met Jimmy as a Valet. He pulled in, I kept it cool. "Hey Mr. Rollins, my name is Drew. I'ma keep it up front for you." He said cool. When I sat in the car, I saw it was almost on empty. I stood and yelled to him as he was about to enter the restaurant, "Hey, Mr. Rollins, want me to fill it up for ya?" and pointed to the gas station across the street. He just gave me a nod with a smile. When he was done I handed him the receipt for the gas, $75. He looked at me, pulled out two crisp hundred dollar bills, and handed them to me. Then he shook my hand and thanked me.

I was 18. He was THE MAN. I'm a big Phillies fans.

He came in a few times after that and always shook my hand, was always very polite, and always tipped well.

Thanks for being awesome Mr. Rollins.

As a lifelong Mets fan, Jimmy Rollins was a main reason for a lot of painful days in 2007 and 2008. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. This was a great interview. All the Smoke Baseball is killing it! ⚾⚾⚾

It made me sad when he said “what do I have to do.”

500 doubles, 100 triples, 200 homers, 400 steals - one of three players to do it - and the only one with 30/30, MVP, Gold Gloves (4 at a defensive premium position). Jimmy should be a no-doubter.

Yanks fan here. Jimmy had me fucked up at 10-12 years old every time he stepped up to the plate. Obviously wanted to be Jeter when I grew up, but Jimmy was a damn close 2nd. He felt like the biggest dude on the field no matter his physical size. Happy to see he’s still Jimmy
