Lewisburg Pa surprised me. The city is anchored by Bucknell University. The only downer I can think of about Lewisburg is the Federal prison. <br>I think that Pennsylvanians who want to farm, including the Amish, are still looking for affordable property, All you need is an extra job like Nursing or Plumbing and access to the three large markets: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and New York City. A lot of people dream of owning a farm but are scared away from the prices for land. Word to the wise: speaking of Oil City, always own the mineral rights to your farm property. Pennsylvania oil is with its low salt and low iron, is high quality oil. The oil or gas well on your farm will pay your taxes and help you put money in your savings.<br>Pottsville might turn around if Amtrak builds that rail from NYC to Allentown Pa. New Yorkers will check out all the crazy cheap property and land out near Allentown. It will be like Vineland NJ. where my grandparents retired. Rte 55 made everyone's commute to Philadelphia easier. My architect friends who practiced in NJ found out how crazy cheap the lots and houses were in Vineland and even on the Delaware Bay coast and you could buy farmette sized lots. Admittedly the Delaware Bay is more laid back than Loveladies, but the sailing & fishing crowd have a ball out there.
