I have a Polaris, fully restored by Synthwave in the UK. Mine used to belong to the Polaris's designer, Paul DeRocca, its a beautiful synth.

Lovely and raw all at the same time. Definitely as the Arp sound, but also has that 1984 vibe similar to the JP-6 as well. Thanks for the review and insight!

Had one. It sounded lovely. Wish I could've kept it.

I’ve had this synth since 2005 and love it. I just changed the internal battery. It was the original one from new with a 1984 date code. Sure knew how to make batteries back then!

It‘s basically a reduced version of the much more complex Rhodes Chroma. There‘s not even a display on it. But that actually makes it the more practical proposition for most. It‘s difficult to get intro a good programming vibe via the Chroma‘s, DX7 style, one fader system.

The Chroma Polaris has long fascinated me. It couldn’t do everything its predecessor could, but it [appeared] easier to use than the original Chroma.<br>One thing I’ve read is that it was multitimbral like the original. I was curious if it was also loaded with matrix modulation like the original (though the term “matrix modulation” wasn’t coined until the Oberheim Xpander arrived), but it wouldn’t appear to be.

Beautiful sounding synth. This and its bigger brother, the Chroma, last of ARP. Too bad it has those membrane switches, tho.

another pretty good synth, problem is that the mid range analogs have a very same feel to their sounds after a while-matrix6/jx8p/dw8000/ax60/esq1-ive had them all and ditched for this exact reason.the exception that ive found was the elka ek22 but even that ones sounds had a flavour
