Now this is the BassMaster I remember.. man I wish things were still this way. Who would of thought years later our sport would be completely different. Not seeing these guys looking down at a screen all day, is such a relief. Great Video KVD!!!

Man, those were the great days of bass fishing. You guys brought the magic that made this sport so special. I truly hope B.A.S.S. finds its sweet spot again, because the sport we all love feels like it’s fading. Losing legends to retirement has changed everything.

Enjoy your well-earned retirement, KVD. We, the fans, love you and miss seeing you on the water. The Bass Stage, just isn’t the same without Dr. Crankenstein.

I'm just watching a bassmaster classic, an old one, with you Kevin, Gerald swindle, Mike. I. Wow , fishing was really tough. But you were looking good Kevin, you still caught fish, great job . A fan for years

I drove over to Pittsburgh from Ohio. Before I left my son asked me who would win. I told him it was between Aaron Matters and Kevin VanDam. It was great when the classics were in the summer and we could get some up north.

This is easily my favorite classic of all time. I was there to watch you fish and have some great action shots. I always wanted to see you fish some similar conditions to what I grew up fishing which was the Kanawha River in WV. It can get pretty darn tough in summer. When I saw you were fishing a tough river I had to make the trip to watch in person. I am thankful to have been in PA and I am equally as thankful that I finally got to see you fish WV before ending your career. Stonewall Jackson and Summersville lake are two of my favorite lakes to fish. I just wish the fishing would have been better when you all were here. I’d love to see you come back and fish WV again maybe for your show. April would be awesome.
