"Yotschanan" Invites 5 Ministries X BMA to Launch "Traffy Fondue: Repair, Rebuild, Fight Floods" – Free Repairs! We'll help you get the job done once the water recedes. The system connects government agencies to send technicians to repair houses, appliances, electrical systems, and vehicles on-site. Easy reporting and tracking until the job is completed. ////// On October 2, 2026, Prof. Dr. Yotschanan Wongswasdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), led a team of executives from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), the Ministry of Education, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to launch the "Traffy Fondue: Repair, Rebuild, Fight Floods" system. This system serves as a central channel connecting the needs of affected citizens with assistance agencies. Prof. Dr. Yotschanan explained the concept behind this collaboration, stating that as water levels recede, the urgent need lies in cleanup and repairs. Some citizens may lack insurance coverage, making this mobilization of resources crucial. The project sought assistance from the director of NECTEC, who oversees the Traffy Fondue system. Given Bangkok's familiarity with the system, it was used as a starting point for integrating resources from various agencies, including the Rajamangala University of Technology network and several Rajabhat universities ready to help, as well as vocational education groups and the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour. Furthermore, for vulnerable groups or residents who cannot access the system themselves, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Resources (MSDHR) will have volunteers act as intermediaries to input data into the system, ensuring comprehensive repairs for all. The project is also welcoming volunteers from the private sector and other organizations to register through Traffy Fondue, mobilizing all Thai people to assist Bangkok in this effort. Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, in his capacity as the person responsible for the Bangkok area, stated that in the short term, the armed forces will provide personnel and equipment from all branches to support the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the main agency managing the situation, in assisting citizens in Bangkok and surrounding areas, especially in hard-to-reach areas. The relevant agencies are being coordinated to prepare for the recovery and rehabilitation phase once the flood situation subsides. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Thawida Kamolwech, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, reported on the situation in several areas, stating that Bangkok still has critically high flood levels in many districts, including the eastern side (e.g., Lat Krabang, Nong Chok, Prawet), the northern zone (e.g., Sai Mai, Khlong Sam Wa, Bang Khen), and other areas. The military has continuously deployed personnel, high-clearance vehicles, and boats to assist, and 776 emergency patients have already been evacuated from the affected areas. The next phase will focus on restoration, including cleaning and repairing electrical systems and homes. The Traffy Fondue system will be used as a central hub to coordinate efforts with volunteer engineers, military technicians, and a network of technicians from various ministries to provide systematic assistance in each affected area. Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, stated that the Ministry of Labour and the Department of Skill Development have mobilized teams of technicians to repair equipment, appliances, and vehicles for the public free of charge. In Bangkok, several service points have been opened for repairing cars and motorcycles submerged in water, utilizing the Traffy Fondue platform already used by the Ministry. This will help ensure efficient and targeted personnel deployment and resource management, providing seamless assistance to the public. Mr. Nikorn Somklang, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, emphasized the importance of caring for vulnerable groups, the elderly, and people with disabilities, especially those residing in National Housing Authority flats. The implementation of the Traffy Fondue system will enable the network of juristic persons and volunteer groups to identify needs and coordinate assistance comprehensively, reducing the chance of people being left out of the system. Mr. Akranan Kankittinant, Deputy Minister of Education, stated that the potential of the vocational education network, including teachers and students, will be utilized to repair electrical equipment after the floods. Traffy Fondue will serve as a central channel for receiving reports, processing the information, and forwarding it to appropriate agencies in the area, including the Rajamangala University of Technology vocational education network or the Ministry of Labour. Those reporting the issue can track the status of the rep...
