  if you think the rankoth vehera stupa(the large stupa you saw at polonnaruwa) is tall you should vist anuradhapura , the jethawnaraya stupa is 3times taller than it. clocking at 130m tall ! it also the largest brick structure ever build &nbsp;in this world till to this day needing over 100 milloin baked bricks . also the largest foundation of a ancient structure. this was made 2000 years ago . &nbsp;abhayagiriya stupa (115 m tall at its original height) , ruwanwaliseya is one of if not the most importent &nbsp;stupa in buddhist history &nbsp;world wide. anurdhapura archealogical zone is way larger than polonnaruwa composing of hundreds of sites. it is also the first capital of the sinhalese (the native ethnic people ). lasting over 1500 years without getting invaded (5th century BCE to the 12th century ) also the longest continued capital in the world . hope you enjoy sri lankan history and stay safe❤බුදු සරණයි.

  There was a highly developed civilisation in ancient Sri Lanka going back to 5000 years. Experts have compared the stupas to the pyramids of Egypt and have noted that they all have a narrow top which points to the sky. No one knows what went on during that period.

  I m a Srilankan living out of the country. Whenever I open youtube I am looking for your videos, they are addictive, bring my memory back in Srilanka. Top of all I feel your family is like my family members, they are so much familiar to me, don&apos;t know the reason, and also love this effortlessly naturally flowing presentation.   Sri Lanka is an amazing country. I spent only 12 days there last year but visited very interesting ancient sites, different temples, participated in religious rituals.<br>The food was very tasty and healthy. The hotels were all top class🎉.Our tour guides looked after us really well. I strongly recommend Intrepid Traveller holidays
