  Great take my friend. I had the DS MKI in house with the MB2 card. In my system it was real good. Was fortunate caught a sale from PS Audio on the AL, so i jumped on it. A small improvement in sound. For me the AL does exactly what i need. I do admit streamers with additional features are damn cool.

  I have an Airlens. I tried to learn using the PEQ, but hated the experience. We auditioned several other transports and found the Airlens to be the best for my system. Even my wife noticed the difference. I didn't need any other features except I2S. My DAC is the DirectStream MK1. I haven't auditioned the T8, but the reviewers say it has a cool, dry sound, unlike the Airlens. I found the Airlens to be very musical right out of the box.

  Great review it’s funny you mentioned, but I use my PS audio air lens with my headphone rig and my ever solo DMP A8 with my two channel set up which is mostly ps audio.  I found this works best for me for the exact reasons you described.

For me, it made a difference and was worth the effort. Most of us have to work with the rooms we have. Just because you can’t treat everything doesn’t mean that it’s not worth treating anything.

  Great comparison, and even better discussion. &nbsp;Lots to think about!<br><br>My SMSL N100 is reported to sound T8 / Rivo+ good (according to reviewers with actual experience) and only costs $400 so… if one requires a high quality streamer with basic features, it’s an option.<br><br>Great video! 👍

  Thanks for the great comparison vid! One solution to the Air Lens and parametric eq would be to use it with Roon. I use roon’s parametric eq with my Node N130 to estimate an iso226 loudness curve that I use when listening at low volume. Some may argue that the Node N130 is fairly mid fi, but with the use of the usb out to a good DDC, it can sound great. You do lose ability to use the node’s volume control, bass and treble controls, maybe sub out, and Dirac output but if you mostly care to have the cleanest most jitter free digital signal presented to your dac, this is the way to go with the Node. BTW, Roon also supports the addition of convolution filters so if you have the capability to measure your room and generate a room correction file, you can use that with Roon. I use Accurate to measure my room and generate correction filters and very pleased with the results. Cheers!
