They are talking about little shops in towns and villages. But in Italy there are also malls and supermarkets. They are open all day long, every day in the week and sell everything. I don’t know why tourists don’t go there.

Even within Italy there are cultural differences. Northern Italy like Milan is way different than the south, like in Calabria.

I’m Italian and I live in the ligurian region (Sestri Levante), and it was awesome listening to you guys talk. I can say you really nailed the key points: the fundamental differences in behavior and the way Italians relate to someone versus the way Americans do. So the key is an open mind and zero prejudice. Once you get past those hurdles, it’s all about mutual enrichment.

Italians call American coffee " sciaqua budella" meaning " Gut rinser"

actually some supermarkets allow fruit and vegetables to be weighed at the checkout... BUT... if you have many varieties of the same product it becomes impractical... (For example in the supermarket where my wife works they have over ten different types of tomatoes)

If someone stared at my girlfriend for 5 minutes and then asked me how tall she is and leave, it would be like the weirdest thing of the month

I am not sure if you mentioned it. But an interesting thing. not sure if this is more European vs American. or Italian. But it has taken some getting use to for me here in Italy. Is the Time schedule. Dinners are so late here. I am used to eating dinner at 5 - 6pm and if we want to go out to eat we have to wait for a lot of places 7 -7:30 to open and we are almost always the first ones there.. LOL and Bed time... I go to bed at 10 most night. I wake up at 6am. But here In Italy 2200 the night is just getting started. So Friday, Saturday Italian schedule. during the week 10pm bed.. Not giving up my 8hrs for nobody.. lol

The "listen/senti" expression has quite the same different nuance between north and south of Italy, I live in the north and it took me a couple of times to realize a person from Puglia I know just has that cultural habit, not intense commanding meaning or rude in their region like it would sound to our Northern areas.

Kacie is so sweet. I am an Italian girl living abroad in Germany, so it's really interesting for me to hear her " reversed " point of view

Can you interview someone from the west who moved to a country in africa now that would be interesting because you don't hear many stories of that happening because people from the west usually always trevel to Europe which is noting new
