I’ve been hearing you talk about the container concept for years… and every time you do another video on it you make it click in my brain all over again! Thank you for doing these! I know you must get so tired of talking about the same things over and over again sometimes, but I truly appreciate it!

Dear Dana, Kay, White,… I’m happy to see you back from summer vacation. I for one, benefited immensely from your container concept. Here’s why: six years ago I became a widow when my husband died from COVID-19. So I sold our small house and moved up north to be closer to my sister and I moved into a small apartment. In my mind a small apartment was the same as a small house minus the yardwork. For the first two years of living here, I continued to decorate and maintain housekeeping the way I did when I was a homeowner. But it wasn’t working, and I was feeling overwhelmed, and I couldn’t understand why until I watched your videos explaining the container concept. That’s when I realized that my apartment was a completely different “container“ then my small house was. So even though I didn’t think I was bringing in too much stuff I had to face the reality that this small apartment does not have a small garage.(or any garage) and this small apartment does not have an attic, and this small apartment does not have a basement. And the small apartment does not have a shed in the backyard. So I had to face the reality that my new apartment was a completely different container and I had to purchase items and /or let go of items to stay within the confines of my apartment. Once I understood this, life got a lot easier and moving around my new home has a lot less friction. So thank you for helping me to understand this concept more clearly.❤

Love it- the container is REALITY!! We only suffer when we fight REALITY but only 100% of the time.

I had company the last few days and the dishes had not been washed. When I got home from work today I was very tired. I was debating if I should just take a nap and put the dishes off until tomorrow or try to do just a few to reduce that hug mountain.
I decided if I just washed the “first layer” then I’d “earned” the right to take that nap! Yes, I make silly bargains with myself…
So I put this podcast on speaker and began to wash those dishes.
My “huge mountain” of dishes took me exactly the same amount on time to wash as this 16 minute podcast! So often I put off chores because I’ve convinced myself that I don’t have the time or energy to do those chores NOW.
Listening to you motivates me. I’ll declutter and/ or do the daily tasks for as long as the podcast lasts. I just randomly pick a podcast and GO.
Works every time. Thank you Dana for rearranging my brain!

Dana been with you the past 6 years: your pencil video about the container concept was my a-ha moment! Your books/podcast/videos have allow me to work through my home of 26 years--> using the no mess decluttering concept *I wish I knew 20 years ago! I just spent the last 25 days using your method & concept in my garage (15-mins or more, at a time). It is now better than before and moving to my office to do the same. THANK YOU! Welcome back.

Welcome back. My mom had 3 china cabinets. She also had lots of china, stoneware, souvenirs, silver and crystal. When it was time to clean out the house (8 siblings), we had a drawing system and I got a set of china I had always wanted and two of the cabinets. We took the doors off of one and put it in my husband’s home office. The other one went in my small dining room, so I had to move the sideboard to the small living room. I still haven’t started the 5 step process on either one. Nobody wanted the crystal and silver so my oldest sister took it. My youngest sister got a really pretty china cabinet, but doesn’t have room in her apartment so one of my brothers put it in his vacation home.

All this to confirm that yes, you may want something, but not have the space in your container for it.
