  Re: #13 Action Comic No. 1. Some burglars broke into the comic store at Seattle's Pike Place Market, Golden Age Collectibles, but apparently had no idea what was valuable and what wasn't. They neglected to take sports memorabilia that was worth thousands, and looked right past this very rare, first Superman comic. The owners of the shop, who were interviewed afterwards, had to laugh because what WAS taken was really not worth all that much.

  Just imagine how the person who sold that painting at the flea market must have felt when they found out they sold the painting with the Declaration of Independence hidden inside it for $4.

  The yard  and estate sales in my area are more of a ebay sale.  With Google people know what they have. Miss the old days of thrifting.  Still can find treasures but far and in-between now. 😢😢😢😢

  There’s just something so beautifully poetic about the woman who wore the huge diamond on the daily for decades, assuming it was costume jewelry. I imagine she must’ve been a real character! 💎💍💋💄

  I remember when I was working in China I learned that some seedy folks would produce items that looked ancient, they would then bury them for a month or so, dig it up and sell it for big money as a Chinese antique.

  My favorite Antiques Roadshow - and I&apos;ve never watched an episode.... just happened to see the video clip - was the guy discharged from the army in Germany in the 60s and whose Sargent told him to buy a watch on the way home at the base store. A specific watch. &nbsp;Which he did. <br><br>He knew nothing about watches or collecting them but had just so happened to keep everything from the transaction - including the bag he walked out with - in a closet. When he took the watch and everything to the show they pointed out it was a rare Rolex with every bit of documentation and history. The guy was almost in tears.<br><br>Personally, I don&apos;t like the brand: there&apos;s considerable BS surrounding it, but I was happy for that guy.

  Liked all of it, just amazing what someone could find out about something they had bought at a flea market, a garage sale or a yard sale.for even under a dollar just to find out it&apos;s worth way more.

  I don&apos;t remember where this happened. But someone renovating a house, and found the walls filled with vintage movie posters. One of the previous owners work in an old movie house, and brought the posters home to use as insulation in the walls.
