  I just put pancake mix on my compost pile. I’ll spray the brewed molasses tea over that and cover for a week.

  This is great, and a wonderful bit of synchronicity for me. I&apos;ve been studying biofilm in an aquatic setting because I&apos;ve been getting into the freshwater shrimp hobby for a couple of years now, and I have been passionate about detritivores for longer as I am an isopod enthusiast. This is adjacent and extremely helpful for me as I am in the Piedmont Triad and have that same compacted clay soil with no worms. As a disabled amateur gardener who needs to work as smart as possible, this will be invaluable to me in turning layers of oak leaves into soil. Thank you so much.

  Since I don&apos;t have powdered milk and what I found in the store is much more than needed for this tonic, I&apos;m going with 1/2 cup of low fat milk from my frig.

  Ok, I’m only going to ask this thought process of questions at this time, I’ll write again another time with my next series. This set of questions has to do with the corn meal. I set my water out the night before to make sure the chlorine is gone and to also ensure the water is at room temperature. Now I mix all my ingredients throughly. I let this mintier sit 5 minutes, I mix again and then pour into my watering can. I use my 2 gallon can with the ‘wide perforated gentle sprinkle’ watering head. I gently sprinkle this liquid mixture over my first test bed. Then I cover this first test bed with the mulching layer. I look down and see corn meal in the bottom of my watering can. &nbsp;What good is the corn meal doing in the bottom of the can? Should I make another test bed and mix the water, molasses and milk together; then separately sprinkle the corn meal, followed by the liquid and then the mulching layer? &nbsp;Also your video only said “cover with mulch”. Mulch is a quite broad term. Is there a specific mulch that should be used? I would think the density of the specific types of mulch can greatly affect the outcome of this test. I think wet fresh cru grass clippings would cause a significant loss of airflow. I think spent horse bedding could cause chemical variations from the different layers of intestinal content of the manure.. I think plain spent dry chaff would be the best, but there are so many choices…..pine needles, straw, dry cardboard, and so many others. How does one choose? At this rate, just from this list I’m looking at close to 100 test beds. And I still need to test the rice theory, beer, and coffee grounds. ~sincerely, E.Watson
