  What makes Coates so special is his authenticity, thoughtfulness, and his clear intent to discuss these issues in good faith. Even when I disagree with him, it’s impossible not to respect his point of view, because of the qualities I mentioned above.

  Love Dr Coates ❤. I'm his generation. Many of us have woken up at this point. Racism, empire building, exploitation are what fuel america.

  Thanks for speaking about this Ta-Nehisi. This is one of the things I don’t think most white ppls understand. I’m Native American, when I look back at the atrocities committed against black, brown, indigenous ppls, Asian ppls there is nothing in my soul that says or wants to get revenge by committing the same atrocities against white ppls. Atrocities are atrocities no matter who is inflicting or perpetrating them. Wanting to perpetuate harm onto another human being is wrong, period. U.S. soldiers used the butts of their rifles to hit indigenous moms and infants in their heads in order to save bullets during the so called "Indian wars”. Anyone wanting to inflict this same kind of barbarism on anyone needs some serious help for themselves and their traumas. I’ve heard white nationalists say "If POC (they used more colorful descriptive words to describe POC) ever outnumber us, they will do the same thing to us that we did to them”. Most POC, most human beings don’t ever think like this. This is something that truly needs to be studied, if it hasn’t already.

  I love Ta-Nehisi Coates and I love interviews where he is asked really thoughtful questions and not just the kind of slop questions he gets asked on CBS. This was a great conversation

  The Dutch and British "India Companies" sacked South Asia and committed genocide in North America,  United Fruit destroyed everything South of Mexico and Anglo-Persian Oil Company destabilized the entire Middle East. Mega-corporations have always had blood on their hands, and SO much of it.
