  I grew up in clearwater and slowly watched as scientology took over like a plague of white shirts and black pants.

  It makes me laugh to think that somewhere in Clearwater or LA is a file that has the words “Papa Meat” listed on it. Like, someone had to physically write “Papa meat.”

  As someone who lives in Clearwater, this was not on my bingo card when starting the video. Paused right at the Clearwater, and was like ohhhhh ya that makes sense, fucking scientology. Downtown is completely avoided. Luckily, they pretty much stick to their area and locals avoid it. One thing you missed is they also run for city boards and have won seats.

  I unfortunately was raised in Scientology. Never wanted to be, but my father is a devout Scientologist. They have a file about 4-5 inches thick on me at the Buffalo church. This video is just high level stuff, I never went up “The Bridge” because I never wanted to. I have had all sorts of auditing, courses, also what they call “Knowledge Reports” written about me, etc etc etc. They used to show up to our house unannounced and just let themselves in if the door was unlocked. One time my mom had just gotten out of the shower and upon exiting the bathroom in just her towel there were two of them standing in the middle of the kitchen. It’s fucked. It’s all so fucked. Now at almost 41 years of age I have finally been able to loosen from their horrific grasp, but still always feel like I have to look over my shoulder and fear my parents bringing it up everytime I talk to them. My dad has a full library of books and DVDs from the Scientology library, he has completely brainwashed my poor mother, and 99% of their friends are Scientologists. I am not joking when I say that growing up in it REALLY screwed me up, might I say damn near PTSD levels of screwed up, and I do not toss that term around lightly.

  i live near clearwater, i used to stroll scientology lane with friends late at night. stopped going because every time we went, weirder and weirder shit started happening. normally the scienos wont talk to you (in my exp) but they started directly interacting with me, my car would get followed, busses full of people going around at 3am, we would get followed by ppl on bikes, they pop out of fucking nowhere (all the doors must be oiled or some &nbsp;shit because theyre silent). super creepy

  I went to Clearwater High, and had a few friends whose families were Scientologists. One was shipped off not long after graduating to go work on a yacht for the org and when I saw her a few years later at a GameStop at Clearwater Mall, her friends closed ranks around her and pretended I wasn&apos;t even there— mid conversation. She looked at me with a worried expression and I regret not confronting the folks she was with. It broke my heart. It&apos;s not great optics to have members interface with non members in that manner, it just validates what&apos;s out there further.
