This was the start of the Spurs and Lakers dynasties!
How I miss this era! In 1999, when my Lakers got swept was when I became a Lakers fan. I was still a pre-teen. I remember being sad the Lakers got eliminated by the Spurs. I was so sad, even tho it was my 1st year as a Lakers fan. By 2000 I was already a die-hard Lakers fan 🥹💜💛 I wouldn't miss a single Lakers game.

Spurs 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014 Champs.
Lakers 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010 Champs.

Unfortunately for my Spurs after we whooped that asss and won the championship. The Lakers came back and won 3 straight titles and then we stopped their run to go on to win another 4 chips. I like catching up and watching these games I missed. Now 2025 Wembys Spurs & Lukas Lakers New Rivalry Coming New Era GSG🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉LFNG!!!!!

What’s even crazier is over a 16 year stretch 99-14.. Kobe and Duncan went to 13 of the 16 Finals.. Winning 10 rings during that period.. 5 a piece.. We’ll never see Two Players/Teams dominate like that again..

Love these old games my spurs we’re so methodical, strategic and they executed. They knew what they wanted and their identity was defense first. Then inside and out. So many leaders on that team. Doesn’t hurt to have Duncan and Robinson lol. Thank you for posting!

Such good announcers and commentating. There's actually something more to analyze than "another 3".
