She asks what he likes to read, and he starts improvising just the way he plays. Thoughtfully, seriously, with many shifts, hesitations, bursts of beauty fading into unfinished exclamations, introvert giggles before colorful gems of vibrant expression, having fun just flowing with philosophical ideas as he is flowing with musical themes, emerging out of...well, his mind. What a beautiful mind.

I appreciate the wisdom of the moderator's silence. She realizes she's in the presence of genius...and the best way to draw wisdom is to resist the urge to talk and keep silent, and let it come forth naturally. That's VERY rare now-a-days...

You have flown, I've flown listening to your fine music since I was 17 - and I'm 75 now. I appreciate your life so much, my Buddha Buddy! See you in the flying time.

How do you rehearse the unexpected? This will be my mantra for my abstract paintings. RIP Wayne Shorter.

It's rare that I have the patience to listen someone talk for an hour and especially on YouTube, but I couldn't stop listening to Wayne Shorter even if I wanted to. I was practically in tears just from his amazing presence and ability to be in the moment and the way he connected everything throughout the talk totally blew me away.
