  James didn't mention that his dad only had one  kidney because he had previously donated one of his to someone else.  Also, a suitable donor was found after responding to the video. So really,  the video saved his father's  life.

  The song "Monsters" haunts me. I looked after my Dad through cancer. He became a best friend rather than a Father. I took him fishing and we'd sit there and chat. Until one day when he said "Matthew, I can't come with you any more, I'm just too weak". I didn't take him again and it felt like both our lives were over. He started to go down hill but I was determined that he should carry on living in his own home. I vistted him twice a day, cooked a meal for him. Gave him his meditication. took him for hospital treatments. Then one day because of the chemo he lost his taste and started to lose weight rapidly.....it's a terrible thing to see the man who was your hero just wither away. As an ex soldier I felt I could take on any man BUT when cancer takes hold and it's just these little microbes taking your Dad from you you just feel so helpless! I eventually had to find him a care home (which was amazing) the staff took so much pressure off me after finding him slumped over his table one morning and having to phone for a Doctor. I finally lost him in 2019 and part of me went with him.

  As a metal fan...I adore James Blunt. He is a proper warrior, more balls than a lot of the people I follow in metal, and to serve his country like his father... what a legend. Massive respect.

  Can you imagine writing a song that caused so many people to bawl their eyes out as hard as this did?? <br><br>The pressure of that is something I couldn&apos;t even imagine..<br><br>I really hope James realizes just how many people around the world he&apos;s touched through this expression of his own love for his dad..

  I&apos;ve watched many reactions to this song. Not ashamed to admit as a man approaching 50 I&apos;ve cried along in many. When you mentioned your pet though it broke me. About a month ago I had to get our family dog euthanized. I had also been told that they know what is happening and they cross much more peacefully when holding their owners hand and looking into their eyes. I dragged myself out of the vets and broke down afterwards. This brought it back but also helped with the grieving process.

  Love James. When I was younger I was in Spain at a Night Club when my Spainish friends ask if I want to go to a Party at James Blunt&apos;s House. Said Yes! There he was DJing his Party. I got to meet and Talk with him. He was Funny and Kind! Amazing Guy...
