  the poppy war was suggested to me by someone on tik tok as a &quot;enemies to lovers in a dark acedemia setting&quot; <br>....................<br>yeah. cue the blank stares. did i read it? yes. did i enjoy it? yes, but not in the way i was hoping to enjoy it because i went into it thinking it was going to be an enemies to lovers in a dark acedemia setting but instead i got this absolute masterpiece on war. and yeah, it was great but i wasn&apos;t looking for a book on war and magic at the time and therefore, probably didn&apos;t enjoy it as much as i should have or taken in as much as i should have because i was focused on what i thought was a romance.. how frustrating. THAT&apos;S WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO GIVE EDUCATED RECOMMENDATIONS. <br><br>the anti-intellectualism epidemic really blows my mind.

  The red queen/powerless drama seems to bizarre to me cuz when I first discovered bookstore Red Queen was THE book too book. Everyone knew it, read it and talked about it, so I thought that the majority of ppl who r on booktok now and read powerless would at least know about red queen and would know that it came out years ago. Aside from the fact that I’d definitely fact check prior to accusing some author of plagiarism, especially considering that the alleged og book only came out recently so the author wouldn’t even have enough time to write and publish a plagiarised version. Some ppl really don’t think before commenting
