For a minute looking at the title, I wondered if integza was going to make a 3d printed Hypergolic rocket

Wowee! Can't believe my injector design (2:01) made it into an Integza video! That was a fuel-side, cold-flow test conducted with Airborne Engineering as part of Race2Space 2024, which is an amazing opportunity. The engine, named Kepler, was designed by Imperial College Space Society with support from many sponsors, and was test fired with a new injector at the same event in 2025!

In the 90's I worked as an engineer on the Space Shuttle. The OMS and RCS systems used in orbit used MMH and NTO. I worked on the check valve in these systems. It had insane leakage requirements - just a few scch of He at 450 psi. The valve had series and parallel redundancy. The poppets and seats in the valve were made from chemical vapor deposited material with metal and ceramic properties (i.e. cermet), the exotic material was required due to the terribly corrosive properties of both propellants. The poppets rode on sapphire bearings, I remember ongoing discussions of changing to diamond bearings - the diamonds were to be gem quality with no flaws or inclusions, alas we didn't care about color. Never went for this "improvement" and they stayed with sapphire through the end of the program. Pretty heady stuff for a humble check valve, but as you said you can't let the MMH and NTO get together before reaching the rocket nozzle else....boom!
