Like and subscribe if this one changed how you think about freight, this channel is still small and every bit of engagement genuinely determines whether YouTube shows these videos to more people. It means a lot.

The detail that stopped me: the ultrasonic wheel defect detector that Union Pacific uses at Bailey Yard was developed internally and is the only one in the world. It inspects wheels while the car is still moving through the yard, finding cracks that a visual inspection would miss entirely. Bailey Yard replaces roughly 10,000 wheel pairs per year. Some of those replacements happen without the car ever leaving the track. And this technology exists nowhere else on Earth. One yard in Nebraska, 2,600 employees, every 14 minutes another train arrives.

I visited the Bailey yard and went to the Golden Spike Tower which gives a tall view of the yard. Great spot.
