My husband decided he would remain active and healthy into old age by means of an extensive exercise and diet program, an obsession that destroyed our marriage and his relationships with our 3 kids. He died in his early 60s. I just celebrated 91, gave a lecture at our local history conference, am writing up the results of my latest research project, made a quilt that won best of show at the county fair, and am considering a trip across country to see my great grand children and my 104 year old aunt. No special exercise program or diet. Just waking up every morning and facing the requirements of the day.

My mother is 97 and she lives with me. Cognitively she is as good as ever, but physically she is struggling. She is independent but can barely walk. It hurts my heart to see her like this. We are blessed to still have her, but I don't think she feels blessed. All of her friends have died. She's outlived not only my dad, but also her two sons, her son-in-law, all of her siblings (including the two younger), and her oldest granddaughter (at only 43 years old). Life is about quality, not quantity.

I agree with his science-based approach. However, charging hundreds of thousand dollars each person for publicly available information is outrageous. This guy is running it like a greedy business.

At 77, for me, absolutely no change whatsoever has happened physically. Totally healthy lifelong .

I’m 74 now, retired 12 yrs ago but went back to work p/t 3 yrs ago in the produce department on a local chain grocery store. Love my little job. Do 5-6k steps a day on a weekly average but the day before turkeyday I did over 9k steps. Don’t smoke or drink. I shoot 2 monthly competitions, play piano and work in my shop. You have to keep moving, thinking and working or you will die. Seen too many friends and family die over the yrs that didn’t take care of themselves.

My grandmother lived to 100. My mother is almost 92 and lives alone in Japan . She still goes up the stairs, goes shopping and runs errands by taking public transportation and refuses any help. She is in good health , mentally astute. My mother never did any formal exercise but in Japan people walk a lot just to get around. She also eats traditional Japanese food. She did smoke for about 40 years but my grandmother also smoked until she was in her 90’s. I might have good genetics but I still try to stay fit and eat healthy

Important: You stop you drop. It's important to keep moving, a lot.

Both my parents lived to 100. No special diets. No special exercise programs. They were married longer than most people live. Both said their 60s were the best, kids gone, retired and still able to hop rocks while fishing. My doc says there is a longevity gene and I most likely have it also. At 72 I forget my age until someone reminds me. They didn't actually physically decline until their last 2 years.

My mother is 90 and still lives in her home. She still cleans her house, does her own cooking and is still cognitively sharp. She has never smoked, done drugs or drink alcohol.

These people appear to have enough $$ to maintain a lifestyle that I think is unavailable to most people 90+. But financial security is not mentioned as a factor in their longevity. I think that freedom from economic insecurity is probably a big factor .

What the 2014 episode talks about how exercise doesn’t play a part in longevity. However, they never mention quality of life by staying strong!

He is just out to make a lot of money 💰 💰 💵 💴 My mom is 97 and she always says I’m old and I can’t go backwards but says with a smile of gratitude and says she’s thankful and blessed 😇 Our body is not ment to live for we just have to do the best we can, but we can’t reverse it no matter how hard we try everything ages even our toenails
