  This girl is clearly socially liberal in fashion and attitude. She isn&apos;t bad looking. Why doesn&apos;t this woman just find a liberal American man? I don&apos;t get why people do this to each other. It isn&apos;t like she has to be desperate or couldn&apos;t find someone attractive.<br><br>She is a California girl trying to move to somewhere ULTRA conservative. Is she nuts?

  I&apos;ve seen other people saying that they think that his family does not like her but I think they genuinely love her, you can see it in his mother&apos;s concern for her. However, I think there&apos;s just a huge cultural difference and I think both of them are probably not emotionally or socially well adjusted (even in their own culture) and that&apos;s hard for his family to navigate

  Nicole needed to have these discussions with him and express her fear of loneliness before returning to his country. They had access to video calls and were actively talking, they needed to see if they could sort this all out before she jumped back on that plane.

  I honestly think Nicole thought she was going to change the culture in his family so she could be her normal American self. Not going to get into which culture is best. I lived an hour from the largest Arab community in the U.S. and they are hard working, welcoming and generous people who follow traditional gender roles and that’s that. Too many Americans think when they relocate for love that their partners culture should change. Sorry, it doesn’t work like that. You go to their country you respect their traditions same as when Arab men come here. I don’t see this working out for them. Nicole is not a stay in the house with your mother-in-law all day kind of girl. Too bad. They’re connection is sweet but fraught with many obstacles.
