This undermines Luke sensing the good in Vader himself.

At this point, Palpatine may just be considering on calling the Ghostbusters.

The visitation that Palpatine received (in early drafts of ROTJ) was from Yoda (who had passed into the force). It was intended by Yoda to make plain that some Jedi had accomplished immortality, and as a final warning to Palpatine to leave or be destroyed. It paralleled Luke's entry into Jabba's palace.

Once Palpatine came to power as Emperor, the tide in the force turned. The blindness that plagued the Jedi during the Clone Wars, was now upon Sidious. His foresight had been failing for years, and it was about to end him. Vader found out about Luke, far before Sidious did. Later, when Luke came to Endor, Palpatine never even noticed. Additionally, the Skywalkers, who had the gift of foresight themselves, had both learned not to trust it at that point. Yoda's appearance was to be a terrifying moment for Sidious. It made his failure obvious, and his impending doom clear.

I really like this video, but would love to see someone bring some of these edited ideas back to life.

Qui Gon didn’t need to tell Luke this. Luke had already sensed all this himself.

Sidious would've been way more freaked out than this to encounter a force ghost

Palpatine's voice needs to be more evil and raspy.

Isn't this the good guy equivilent of the "tell the enemy all your plans... for some reason" trope?

Does anybody else think it's a little creepy the way Qui-Gon Jinn's Force Ghost keeps looking upwards with this really big smile on his face every time he is about to vanish? Is there another force Ghost in the picture, maybe on their knees, that we can't see, making the experience a little TOO ENJOYABLE? And don't say it's bliss at rejoining the force. He's still in the force as a Force Ghost. We know exactly what THAT LOOK is. And no, it isn't Padme. Probably. Well sharing is caring, right Anakin? Qui-Gon, you dog. Get a room.
By the way, wouldn't Liam Neeson have made a great stand in for Darth Vader in the suit in the movies - not a small man needing elevator shoes, that's for sure.
