As a youngster i loved Danger Man  and The Prisoner. In 1969 were staying at a hotel in Palma de Mallorca on a family holiday  and he was staying at our hotel.  It was my mother who recognized him first  . He was the perfect gentleman  and always said "good morning" when  we met for breakfast.

I vividly remember as a nine year old kid back in 1967, in Lahore, Pakistan,  I use to watch Dangerman series (once a week) with utmost focus, for he was my hero. Also there was Roger Moore (The Saint), and David Jansen (The fugitive), but Dangerman use to provide most thrill and enjoyment . Now as a 68 year old I just about watched all his series, sometimes more than once. What a principled, upright, and deeply spiritual character he was, unforgettable.

When Patrick lived in Ireland, his family’s homeplace was just a few miles from where my father grew up in County Leitrim. My aunt told me that she used to “babysit” him. Even after he left Ireland, he stayed connected to the community, coming back to visit from time to time. I would have loved to have met him.

I could tell simply by looking at his face that here was a man of unshakable decency--but with charisma too.

He was excellent in the film Hell Drivers with Stanley Baker!

Just watch him in Columbo as the slick lawyer....just amazing.  Or his appearance as undertaker. Both roles incredibly well laid out. A perfect match for Peter Falk

I read that he wasn’t the type of person to approach for an autograph. But, I still am a fan!

I used to deliver his daily newspapers to his mews flat in Chelsea behind Sloane Square ( near the old Le Gavroche resto) as an 8 year old catholic school boy in the late 60’s. He would often open the door 5.30 - 6am in his dressing gown and was always friendly although definitely had a ‘ liquid breakfast’ and sometimes gave me a one pound tip which was my wages  for 5 mornings. I remember seeing him many times at Sunday mass at the local Catholic Church St Mary’s where I was a choir boy - great guy!

A rare thing in so many actors, moral principles and spiritual discernment.

McGoohan was also the father of pulp-superhero THE PHANTOM (1996). It was a great surprise as he reveal himself, passing the baton to his son to follow the tradition of wearing on the superhero suit. The irony was, because of his character age, McGooghan was sort of trap in that island; he was a "prisoner."
