Really enjoying my PD20 (purchased from Bloom).

Steve,

SoC in PD20 is MediaTek MT8788 8-core processor (comparable to Qualcomm 665 in SP4000) with 4GB of Ram (compared to 8G in SP4000).

For streaming apps it can perform a bit sluggish due to 3-4x slower storage subsystem: EMMC NAND vs UFS (again, in SP4000).

So this player is NEW? I just came across it while trying to purchase a Khan Alpha, which now days seems impossible to buy new.

I am assuming these Astell&Kern models do NOT need headphone amps to make them sound great?
