no obnoxious background music, pure and raw footage with no dramatic transitions or editing. This is what documentaries should be

4:02 ...residents sit outside to catch some "fresh air"... This made me sad and laugh at the same time. So true, outside the house- a mix of sewer stench, the smell of sweat and cigarette smoke, gasoline and exhaust fumes, and the aroma of a dish getting cooked using bagoong and patis - fills the air. And this is still fresher than the dense humid stagnant atmosphere inside the house.
This brought me back to my childhood growing up in the Sampaloc area. I felt a tug and a longing in my heart, and a melancholy knowing that I can't live in that kind of a condition anymore.
Cheers Onad!

One thing I noticed while you're having a walking tour, the alleys are clean without any garbage scattered around. That's a great community! 😊 Btw, i hope that your camera is still working 😀

Thanks for another great vlog Onad.
When you said (at ~8.55 into the video) "...or simply enjoying the late afternoon breeze..." it made me realise how much I have to learn from your part of the world.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hey, I've visited the Philippines not too long ago. It was a lot getting used to public transportation coming from places like Germany, Korea and Japan and the air was sooo humid, but man was the country beautiful. I didn't visit any big cities, I was just passing by on my way to an island. I could immediately tell that life isn't easy and saw a lot of poverty everywhere. However, I also saw kids being kids and whole communities hanging out and organizing sports tournaments at their local courts late in the evening. Life was a lot further away from screens there, at least it seemed that way as a foreign guest, compared to my home. I miss the buko shakes... It still made me appreciate living in a rich country with economic safety though, you all have my respect for working so hard in that climate. I never once stopped sweating, haha.

So nice to see many people in the alleys not doom scrolling through their phones in the internet, and actually having conversations and kids playing & socializing.
