  This is technically not a railgun, it’s a coil gun. A railgun has rails that go on the outside and are charged with electricity to create a magnetic field, a coil gun goes around the barrel and pulls the projectiles through itself

  You should look into making a reusable sled. Essentially, instead of building a slug with magnets on it, you build a moving piece with magnets that's designed to carry a magnetless payload to the end of the barrel. The payload releases, and the sled is retained, like a sci-fi ballista.

  When create stimulated first came out, someone made a video series making a work maglev train, and it moved so fast that his computer physically slowed it down cause it couldn&apos;t calculate something moving that fast.
