  Back when I was 6 in 2002, living on a dead end street in Ohio, my neighbor had this custom, gas powered rig he threw together with makeshift parts. The thing could easily clear 80mph. I was cruising down the street on my scooter barefoot, and he was ripping this car back and forth. In a split second, he completely lost control at full throttle. <br> <br>It hit the back of my ankle at roughly 80-90mph. It launched me down a 20ft ditch, and when I tried to stand back up, my right leg just collapsed. I looked down, and the entire bottom half of my foot below the ankle was literally severed and hanging on by skin. <br> <br>The dude panicked, scooped me up, and ran down the street and kicked open my front door. My mom had to watch this guy barge into the house with me thrown over his shoulder, both of us completely drenched in blood. He rushed me to the bathroom, shoved my foot into the sink, and started running freezing cold tap water over a foot that was split wide open. I completely blacked out. <br> <br>Next thing I remember, I woke up in the passenger seat of my dad&apos;s friend&apos;s car going over 90mph toward the ER, with my dad holding me and my foot tight in a towel. I asked him if I could see my foot, and the man just broke down crying right there. By the time we got to the hospital, I was freezing and my vision was going blurry. <br> <br>Surgeons managed to reattach it, but it took two long, brutal years of physical therapy just to learn how to walk again. <br> <br>Insanely enough, the neighbor ended up serving an 8 year prison sentence, not just for the bodily injury case with me, but because police found out he’d stolen the industrial parts for the car and other things from his job, along with tax fraud. <br><br>Sorry for the book, but figured I&apos;d share my story 🙌
