  My poor father-in-law couldn’t use a smartphone to save his life. &nbsp;I am sure there are many seniors like him. These companies are leaving our senior citizens out in the cold. 😢 It’s not right. 😡

  My sister booked a flight for my 97 yo mom and requested assistance for mom, who is mobile and alert but she’s 97. Curbside she was offered a wheelchair, ushered thru check in, pre boarded, and met at her destination with the same courtesy. Mom’s the nicest lady, she wouldn’t say 💩 if she had a mouth full. She couldn’t stop about how relaxed her flight was.

  If your flight gets cancelled on a two-leg booking, and the gate agent tells you there are no more flights tonight from your interim destination to the final one, don&apos;t just accept it. Go online on the app and look at departing flights both from your airport and from the interim airport. &nbsp;I was able to do that at the Cedar Rapids airport (CID) after being told the above this year. &nbsp;I said &quot;I just went online and saw there are seats open on the 8:40 pm flight from Denver to Los Angeles.&quot; &nbsp;The agent double checked and sure enough, I got booked on a flight to Denver and the above flight to LA. &nbsp;I am 81.

  I was with my brother flying to my grandmothers funeral. &nbsp;We were informed at the desk we would not be seated together. &nbsp;I hesitated and said I really wanted to sit next to my brother. &nbsp;They gave us an upgrade to first class. &nbsp;It was a long flight, a a comfort to have big brother near.

  At age 72, I was flying out of Miami to Montana. My flight was delayed for some reason, and my connecting flight took off without me, but did leave with my luggage. Delta Airlines left me stranded at midnight with no luggage and offered me no help with a hotel voucher. They claimed the delay wasn&apos;t their fault, but blamed it on the airport. This is how airlines treat senior citizens these days!

  Contrary to the Progressive commercials, we are our parents; we print our boarding passes and take food onboard with us. And we ask for assistance POLITELY. &nbsp;And we don’t wear pajamas on the plane. Nor do we remove our shoes.

  I booked and paid extra for the emergency exit row (extra leg room). When I went to check in the counter staff informed me that I could not travel in that seat because I may not be able to help in an emergency. I tried to explain that I was healthier than most men half my age, etc. She knew nothing about my health status and based her decision on my age (78 years). I protested but to no avail. Yet, I was still expected to deal with my carry-on luggage, lifting it high into the overhead locker, along with the young woman’s beside me. It boiled down to age discrimination by an airline I had been flying for years (Thai).
