  Not only was Don Rich a great guitarist but he was a great singer. He and Buck sang in perfect harmony.

  My Dad had an orchestra before ww2 so he was always a music snob , we would watch Buck Owen’s religiously and never missed an episode of Heehaw, he would complain about Buck and how great Don Rich was, Thanks Zack ! You brought back some good memories Btw we would watch Lawrence Welk and Liberace and he had opinions about them too

  As a kid, I fondly remember watching Hee Haw on Saturday nights with my dad. When there was a musical number, I was always drawn to that guy in the background smiling and playing a Tele. I didn’t know anything about him except that he seemed to really enjoy himself. Years later, I came across an article with a picture of him grinning with his Tele and immediately recognized him as that happy picker from my youth. Even though I was a rocker, I will always be grateful to Don Rich for inspiring me to love playing guitar. Thank you.

  Being born in the early 60’s, my mother loved Country &amp; Western music and when Hee-Haw started airing it was always a weekly treat that we sit down in front of the color Motorola television and we would watch Buck &amp; Buckoroos. <br><br>Thank you for this, Inam going to change one of my Tele’s over to Don Rich’s string gauges and tuning in honor of Don.

  Bill Kirchen&apos;s song- &quot; Catch You On the Flip Flop&quot; he cites big influences on him when he was younger:<br>&quot;Down at the county fair I heard Buck and Don&quot; . Commander Cody &amp; His Lost Planet Airmen would do Crying Time- although that&apos;s not high on the Twangometer but a good sad song. It was the B side to I&apos;ve Got a Tiger By the Tail&quot; and Ray Charles covered it. Very informative interview- as ever!

  I remember, as a kid, tuning into watch Hee Haw, and The Buck Owens TV Show, just to see what sparkly Teles Buck and Don would be using.

  Don Rich needs to be studied by any Tele player. &nbsp;I&apos;ve yet to take a deep dive as I have been on a Burton kick lately.
