  An important fact to add to this which is barely mentioned, if at all, in this series or the other two dealing with Japanese history is that in the Japanese constitution at the time, the army and navy were only legally accountable to the emperor. This meant that the civilian government could make all the requests to military leadership that it wanted, but the military leaders had no obligation to follow them.

  Gotta feel for the diplomats from Japan. They were literally the last ones to know. Nothing worse than someone being furious at you and you don&apos;t know why.<br><br>Side note: If Hull read the 14 points to Namora, should that not have been a dead giveaway that America could read their codes?

  From this, the End of the Samurai series, the Sun Yat-Sen series, and the Japanese Militarism series, it feels like all of this is adding up to a series about the Second Sino-Japanese war and the Pacific War as a whole

  I want to draw attention to the occupation of both French and Japan in Vietnam. Both of them tried to drain resource as much as they can leading to more than 2 millions death by starvation in 1945 alone.

  My great grandpa was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was on the Pennsylvania when it got bombed.
