For those of us snooping on this video in our 30s and 40s, the most important thing we can do after we automate saving for retirement is to STAY HEALTHY. Eat right. Go for a walk or run every day. Lift weights. Hell, mow the grass every week. Go to the doctor for at least your yearly checkup. Make an appointment to get that weird looking mole checked out that wasn't that big last year. Retirement will mean nothing if we can't physically do the things we want to do.

Edit: Thanks for ruining my genuine thought, Bots.... super cool...

I managed to retire last year and have no regrets whatsoever. Still very much asleep at 10am every day of the week because I am an extreme night owl. I spend my afternoons, evenings and nights playing pétanque, singing, gardening, making jewellery, learning new skills, playing board games, developing friendships and going for walks. None of these are expensive hobbies. Yesterday, I went wild swimming for the first time. I’ve lost almost 2 stone in the last year simply from exercising more and I feel so much healthier than when I was chained to a desk working in corporate. Can’t imagine being bored or ever choosing to work again unless I have to.

A lot of people think the question “When can I stop working?” is only about reaching a certain age, but I think it’s really about understanding your personal goals, lifestyle, and the choices you want to have available in the future.
