My Movie Shelf Looked Terrible — So I Added Slipcovers

UPDATE: Hey y'all, I’ve decided to remove all the blank black slip boxes from my collection. After spending a significant amount of time and money, I switched over to Scanavo Criterion-style 14mm thick cases, sourcing matching DVDs to ensure I have all the proper artwork and bonus features from DVD to BD and/or 4K.

Ultimately, having to slide the cases out of the slip-boxes just to see blank cardboard felt unfulfilling, and I wasn't getting the joy I expected from the display. I'm much happier with the look and feel of my custom Criterion setup now—it's far more satisfying to be able to pull a title off the shelf, admire the art, and dive straight into the movie without the extra step. As is always the case with this hobby, you have to do what works best for you and enjoy the process!

I love what you've done, the slipbox solution really makes the various packaging sizes and formats look cohesive and elegant. A terrific upgrade in my opinion! 👍👍👍

Awesome video! I’d love to see manufacturers start sending you sample covers and accessories so we can get a better look at the quality and variety available.

Looks amazing, that`s exactly how I`d like my office to look. Would love something similar, not sure if Blockbuster Boxsets ship to the UK, but will investigate.

I love the Rocky case. Is it a custom one? I'd love to make something similar. I also make hard cases.
