If anyone wants the world download for the Teton map, its in the description with some more info.
Also here are the links to the websites I used for the elevation data.
The National Map
https://apps.nationalmap.gov/downloader/
You need to select "Elevation Products (3D Elevation Program Products and Services)"
then the resolution you want and I usually draw the "extent" for the area i want up in the "area of interest" then search.
For the global 30 meter you need an account with JAXA, here is the registration link (anyone can register, its in Japanese but your browser should be able to translate it for you) After that, instrutions will be clear.
https://www.eorc.jaxa.jp/ALOS/aw3d30/registration_j.htm
Open Topography is another option
https://opentopography.org/

ok, i understand why accurate-sized mountains aren't in minecraft, but seeing the tetons in-game makes me want them so much more. mountains are genuinely such stunning formations

That 1:1 scale of the Teton is what I had dreamed of what I could explore in Minecraft back then

2:48 I love how the official definition of a "mountain" is just "you know one when you see one".

Olympus Mons is actually so tall and yet so flat that, because of the planets curvature, the peak is actually over the horizon from the base, and vice versa.
