💡 Mark Skousen believes investors are facing a “permanent inflation” environment — even as technology valuations look stretched and new market risks continue to build. Yet he remains 100% invested, relying on diversification, dividend-paying stocks and exposure to real assets to navigate what comes next. Prices will come down when people stop spending...but people keep spending.

Guy overestimates ai , which is glorified search, and is in an over investment bubble and overestimates treasury and fed’s ability to prevent bond revolt.

Price stability is useless if people don’t have money to spend in the first place. America needs economic growth, which means Uncle Sam needs to turn on the money printer. Please keep Tom Lee interview he nailed.

Do you remember last time?
What last time?

Let’s use the markets as a guide to the economy.
“Everything is getting better and better, look at the stock market” the 1920’s believer in free markets.

“Stocks have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau.” Irving Fisher 1929.
This 1920's neoclassical economist knew this was a stable equilibrium.
He became a laughing stock.

They found there were two factors at work that had artificially inflated the stock market in 1929.
1) Margin lending
2) Share buybacks
They banned share buybacks and put legislation in place to tightly regulate margin lending.

You use the markets as a guide to the economy.
You find ways to pump up the markets.
You think everything is going well, but this just isn’t the case.
The inflated asset prices collapse and this takes out the banking system.

That generation would never believe in the markets again.
Then a new generation came along, ready to make the same mistakes again.

The Americans are at it again with margin lending and share buybacks.
They do call it the United States of Amnesia.
