  I have actually done this flight as a passenger.<br>Flying from Stockholm to Schipol it was too windy to land so we were diverted to Rotterdam.<br><br>Talk was that buses were going to be arranged to get us to Schipol but apparently the wind died down a bit and they decided to fly us there.<br><br>A unique flight.

  In the late 1990&apos;s I was on a 12 minute passenger flight from Ontario, California to LAX on an America West 737. We had left Phoenix for L.A. but were put into a holding pattern near the Arizona-California border which the Captain said was due to us missing our landing slot because of taking off late from Phoenix. &nbsp;After a while he said they won&apos;t have an opening for a couple of hours so we will stop in Ontario to wait and also take on some fuel. He (or the cabin crew I don&apos;t remember) said you can deplane in Ontario if you want but not your checked luggage if you have any.<br><br>Anyway finally cleared for LAX so we took off heading west, and since Ontario airport is in the descent path to LAX (you often see it below you when landing at LAX) we just climbed for a few minutes directly into the pattern basically and leveled off for a moment then started descending towards LAX which as usual was landing to the west.

  More than ten years ago with a KLM flight from LIN to AMS we had to land in Rotterdam because fuel limit and AMS traffic. After refuelling we did flight from Rotterdam to AMS: it was very funny!
