Please understand that she spoke in the same manner as she expected us to eat our meals, peacefully, without stress and in a restful manner. Walking the talk, literally.

it is VERY important to be mentally calm when trying to digest food.

Digestion begins in the brain. Not in the mouth or stomach.

This is simply one of the best lectures I've heard about nutrition. I appreciate her taking her time to explain how a sympathetic overdrive surpresses digestion and hence proper nutrient absorption. WE ARE WHAT WE ABSORB AND NOT JUST WHAT WE EAT. I love that catch phrase.

I’ve chewed my food so poorly since childhood, I’m always in a rush to chew and swallow a meal. Now it’s hard for me to eat slower because I legitimately can’t stand having the texture of liquified food in my mouth 🤷♀️
