An eBay Return Just Turned Into an FBI Report

Watch next: What hapened after I appealled eBay's decision: I Lost $190... Then This Happened 📷 An eBay seller received a different, broken camera in a return—and eBay charged him $189.98 anyway. I compare the serial numbers and photos, explain eBay’s decision, and show what I submitted in my appeal. eBay said it couldn’t determine what was shipped or returned, even after I provided side-by-side photos showing different camera bodies and lenses. I also reported the return through the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, as eBay customer service suggested. That report is a record of my complaint; it does not mean the FBI is investigating. Now I’m waiting to hear whether eBay will reverse the charge. Then I pack two orders and tally a day with no eBay sales: a $1 garage sale lava lamp sold locally for $55, vintage bowling shoes sold on Poshmark, and police lapel pins became my second Depop sale.
