I took the stairs a lot on my cruise a couple weeks ago. I'm 70 and I did much better than I thought I would. I started with 5 decks and worked my way up to 9, but huffing and puffing somewhat 😅

I love deck 1! Get back onboard, walk right to my room. I don’t mind being in the belly of the beast as long as I’m onboard.

Don’t forget the main part of your video when going for that “upgrade” option. When you go for the upgrade, you may well end up with a better cabin, but in a far worse location. And, once you’ve received your “upgrade”, you are automatically charged and moved. So, beware of that upgrade bidding. It’s not for those who really want to choose their cabin location. Thanks for sharing. Cheers! 🥂

I booked a balcony for my first cruise thinking I would use it a lot. I spend maybe a half hour out there for the entire 7-night trip. A few of those sea days were windy and rainy, which produced quite a bit of noise at night hitting against the glass as well. I also discovered that I'm rarely in my stateroom except to sleep. Ever since, I've been booking interior cabins. A white noise machine is great for muting sounds from elevators, overnight crews, etc., and wind and rain are not a factor in keeping me awake.

I booked on Carnival almost 2 years in advanced and they only had deck 2 available with a balcony. I settled. I’m open minded. When I printed out our guest passes I realized they moved our stateroom to deck 11! I was about to call them to request they change it, but, being open minded, I just looked at the deck plans again and left it. Really nice. The restaurants, shops, lido, and casino were all real close. 😊

I always check the deck plans for anything that might be above or below us. But, we booked a last-minute cruise on the Dream, we had an interior cabin on deck 7, forward. Cabins above and below, so I thought we were good. Until we went to take a nap in our nice dark room, and they started rehearsing in the main lounge a few floors below us. That little empty space behind our interior acted like a chimney, we heard every note, every start and stop to the music, it was a hard lesson to learn.

Its funny but i had the opposite happen. I did my social media search and found one that mentioned my cabin had an obstructed view! But they didn't have a video. So i called and complained a couple times but was assured it wasn't obstructed. So i boarded prepared to be pissed and voila, no obstruction lol.

I always try to find a YouTube video of the exact cabin I'm trying to book, before I book!

We always target a mid-ship cabin in the middle of the casino and the Lido. Generally decks 9 or 10 with a balcony that doesn't have the big awning below. That way we can take the stairs most of the time. 19:45

On all three of our cruises so far we've booked GTY interior rooms and haven't been dissappointed. Our first one was deck 2 forward (no rooms on deck 1 on that ship), which is supposed to be one of the worst ones for movement (from what I've seen in other videos). Our second was deck 10 toward the middle (still a couple decks below the pool deck). Our last one was actually right under the buffet (deck 10 at the back) but it was silent the entire trip. It surprised me. I think it helped that the buffet was completely carpeted. Our next cruise (next year) we got a great deal for a suite on an older ship (actually the same ship as our first cruise) and so we got a GTY suite.
