💯💯💯💯👏🏾💯👏🏾💯👏🏾💯👏🏾  I've heard many women say that about child support. Not my black azz. I kept my foot on my ex-husband's neck for years. My kids are 38 and 36 and he's finally paying his $80k arrears. And the judge told him it's my money now and I can do with it what I want. Should've paid when the children were young and in the house. He was mad as hell.

With the child support thing, I saw someone on the chat say that it doesn't matter if they are only paying $28 a week. If you don't need the money or think it's too little, that's fine, but take that money anyway and put it into an account for your child. That's $26k that you can give to your kid as a gift when they graduate, or if they want to buy a car at 16 or whatever. Like, the money is owed to you and your child, so take it no matter what amount, save it, and give it to the child. It adds up, and it will be useful one way or another.

My daughter's father pays child support and we split the rest of her needs 50/50. That's how it was for 15 years with ZERO drama until he got married a few years ago. Him and his wife started a business and paid me a lump sum to cancel the order. I put that $ up towards her graduation. She's 17 now and I hardly pay for anything for her(school, phones, hair appointments etc) because him or his wife send her $ weekly without fail. I think it does help if you don't have a contentious relationship with your ex partner and don't try to use children (on either side) as a "get back".
