If the kid was in the schoolyard playing, other kids and adults would be there. It wouldn't be easy to access the schoolyard or for the kids to run out. There's cameras. Why didn't ANYONE immediately go in the school to alert them and find out who the kid was. The other kids at recess would have seen everything.
