  As a Korean and a seouler, I am quite surprised at how accurate and detail this couple knows about the city. I agree with everything they say especially overrated areas like MyungDong and HongDae.

  The vibes at Cheonggyecheon stream at night are peak!! Office workers with their shoes off eating convenience store snacks with friends. Couples on dates. Live music. The lights of the buildings reflecting on the water. It&apos;s totally different. The reading library was also amazing, but even when it&apos;s not there, I love it at night ✨

  this was goated af. been looking at seoul guide vids to help me out for a trip, and while most are fine, they&apos;re all bringing up the same stuff and, i dunno.. they just kinda lack spice, if that makes sense. but this shit&apos;s on my wavelength, the recommendations are interesting and the advice feels really honest and sincere, especially since you were willing to call out stuff you thought was shit. you guys were such a good buzz to listen to. gotta see what this acorn jelly&apos;s about<br><br>also im from dublin, and if myeongdong is anything like our big tourist areas, temple bar and grafton street, then rhea&apos;s slander is valid af 😤

  As a Korean, I approve this video. If you’re tired of shopping, I recommend these places: <br>1) MMCA (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art): they always have cool exhibitions here all year round. It’s right next to the Palace. Don’t miss the performance art they do every few minutes!!<br><br>2) Han River Parks: If you’re visiting in the spring-fall, don’t skip on the river gaze at Han River parks! The neighborhood with the nicest park is Yeouido or Banpo. If you’re going in March and April, cherry blossoms in Yeouido is a must-see. If you’re visiting in the summer, I recommend going at night to avoid getting heat stroke lol <br><br>3) Leeum Museum of Art: smaller than MMCA, but they also have great exhibitions. It’s a great place to visit if you want to cool down in the Itaewon area!

  I visit Korea often and here&apos;s some additional tips not mentioned in this video:<br><br>1. Yes, Google maps is gimped in Korea. Naver Maps and Kakaomaps are interchangeable so if Naver Maps is too slow for you, you can try Kakaomaps to see if it&apos;s faster.<br>2. Both Naver and Kakao maps feature navigation for buses as well and they&apos;re really accurate, even listing specific stop numbers and bus arrival times, so there&apos;s really no reason for you to get cabs unless you hate walking. (Going to and from the airport is a little funky because the maps have a tendency to send you to the airport express rail, so if it does, double check on your favorite search engine to see if there&apos;s an airport bus that goes closer to your accommodations. It IS getting better though.)<br>3. If you DO want to get a cab, then getting Kakao Taxi is a must. The base taxi works for foreigners, although you won&apos;t be able to hire deluxe cabs or vans (as of 2025). Almost nobody catches cabs by the street anymore and it cuts down on cab drivers trying to shaft a few extra dollars out of foreigners.<br>4. If your phone doesn&apos;t have roaming, you can rent a sim card at the airport. KT, LG U+ as SKT all have Kiosks. Reserving one online before arrival is recommended. Even if you do have roaming, I strongly recommend having at least one phone number because kakaotaxi wouldn&apos;t be effective without a Korean phone number and...<br>5. If you&apos;re staying at an airbnb, most large neighborhood supermarkets deliver to your home, if you have a Korean cell phone number. You can shop, pay and ask for delivery, which they will usually within 30 minutes or less (except for ice cream) and you don&apos;t have to lug everything home.<br>6. Subway station ticket counters also recharge T-money cards in a pinch (like if you go to the subway and find your balance is too low). You can use that card for subways, buses and even taxis nationwide.<br>7. T-Money balance stays there forever as long as the card is readable. But if you&apos;re not gonna go back to Korea for the forseeable future, you can spend the balance at any convenience store, even the convenience stores at the airport landside, for purchases.<br>7. (Optional only if you can speak Korean) You can use Baemin or Coupang Food to browse for food, then call the restaurant directly for delivery. Only thing you won&apos;t be able to do is have the delivery guy leave the food at your door - you gotta meet them and pay. But they all have card readers so you can pay with your credit card.

In Korea, &apos;Gangnam&apos; represents the rich districts south of the Han River ; Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu, and Songpa-gu.<br><br>Gangnam Station is only a tiny slice of the actual Gangnam area. Historically, this spot has been famous for its private academies (hagwons) and language centers rather than being a luxury landmark. While you can find plenty of affordable bars and restaurants there, it doesn&apos;t truly capture the &apos;luxurious Gangnam vibe&apos; people expect. <br><br>As a Korean, I always tell my friends this, but they still end up at Gangnam Station 😂
