  Very nice clip! I love Fukuoka and lived there many years, in Nakasu and Minami ward. Horse sashimi and motsu nabe are great dishes. My favourites were though small yakitori places, despite the smell of charcoal etc. Ramen is ofc a big thing, we lived in the next block to Ichiran headquarters. Also recommended are Matsuya or Yoshinoya beef bowls, the price has not almost changed in 10 years, still 300 yen something with an egg. Japanese curry is also not to be missed, very special and far from Indian curry, Cocos Curry is recommended, a chain. The yatais in Nakasu are extraordinary, but very diverse, some have &nbsp;very good seafood and big shells, others completely different food. If you visit and can not read Japanese, ask someone and explain what you want to eat and you will probably get an advice or look at the display if there is one. They all have cold beer etc, no worries, there are free public toilettes nearby, cleaner than in most western hotels. Saizeriya is good, surprisingly cheap, itameshi food. Also Fukuoka is home to spicy mentaiko, pollock roe with chili. It originated in Korea, but was being made famous from Fukuoka, just as ramen, now a craze all over the world. Yanagawa is pretty and there are so many places where you eat eel - unagi and anago. There is/was also a resto on the eight or ninth floor in Hakata Station that only served grilled eel, excellent. Also an Okinawan resto with surprising dishes with sour gourd and fermented tofu. I do not know if they are still there. Itoshima is pretty by the beach, but not much more, there are some interesting second hand shops. But we went there often from November to April to eat oysters. They set up big tents on the quais with BBQs to grill oysters, squid and other shells. It is very well organized with toilettes etc and there is cold beer. You can also buy take-away, highly recommended at the season. This became long, but maybe someone is interested? Thank you and arigato!

  Thank you very much! I think I will follow similar itinerary for our 2026 trip to Japan. We will be in Fukuoka first before heading to Sapporo for Snow Festival

  I think I saw your previous vlog in Kyoto but I think you made me love Fukuoka specially Yanagawa and Itoshima. I&apos;m currently planning my first ever trip to Japan and yet I keep finding hidden cities like Yanagawa and Itoshima. Definitely adding it to a future trip.
