Whatever happened to just putting a record on and enjoying it? I've had all kinds of record players, destroyed a few records from playing them to death but enjoyed them and they made me happy. As far as record stacking there's a slight lip at the edge so the grooves won't hit each other. Just enjoy your records.

I have a BSR record changer, for which I don't usually play more than one record at a time. I use the Tetrad cartridge which operates at a 3.0 grams and I have 3 platter mats under the record. The bottom platter mat is ceramic, the top two are felted material. This set up has brought out a clarity in heard by me even when I was using MM cartridges.

I see you used a small segment of my video on the SL-J2. The owner bought a aftermarket ground wire that didn't fit in the receptacle in the back so I had to adapt it with a different plug.

I use Shure V15 IV that tracks great at one gram. I love the quality, of sound and the light tracking. For anti skating, I put a blank record and set the tracking when the arm does not move, more precise than just setting a dial.

I have the Technics SL BD20. It's a P mount but tracks at just over 1 gram, which is fine by me. This was very interesting. I wouldn't have guessed that tracking too light can do more damage than too heavy.

Got it. Threw all turntables out. Keep vinyl on the attic. Listen just to my phone. Thanks....

A bad record needle ruins your record not the pressure

I'm a "magnetic cartridge" person myself, but what about Zenith's "Micro-Touch 2G tonearm"? Do these really track at 2 grams or was this just more marketing hype.

The entire changer/stack idea always seemed to me to be a very bad idea. I never stacked records even if a turntable was designed to be used as a changer. Dropping grooves on top of grooves is a recipe for introducing scratches.

Oh, come on. If you fear any record player, vintage or modern, is destroying your record, just listen to them on streaming. It makes no sense living with that fear your records will be worn out after playing, because really, they will, no matter what record player you use. Vintage record players look great, and some of them sound great too. It's not that deep...
