Not hypothetical, common sense. This happened a few years back near Las Vegas in a gold bearing area, there was a full on waist deep river flowing down the road running over barricades (fast flowing) the lightweight material was washed away and the street was filled with glittering sand, which was now located on a public road making it legal to collect ( just doing the city a favor by cleaning the “debri” out of the street 😬 ) I’ve been waiting for another atmospheric river ever since. I don’t know why everyone automatically thinks ai is bs, the story may be made up but the point is what happened in the story is completely possible.

The material in the pan is not gold - it's rocks spray painted with "gold" paint from the hardware store.

If it can't be drilled mined or grown it had to be a tourist trap <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo7uXNg508A&t=180">3:00</a>

Yeah Ai mumbo jumbo, however it is in theory true. After every big flood in gold country new gold shows up. Back in 97 after the flood in the Sierra's I averaged over 3 ounces a day for months on ground I had previously worked for less than a gram a day.
