saying you dont have crazy/perfect stats and then having a 4.8 gpa, taking all those classes in middle school and taking 22 college level classes, starting a nonprofit and doing all the extra things while doing internships and having a job is crazy 😭 this is all so impressive and absolutely not attainable for most people so you should 100% be proud of yourself and not downplaying your achievements/making it seem normal!!!

Your ivy stats video is so much more humble than 99% of students that also make this video, so i thank you for that 😭 even tho i still don't meet my asian parents expectations

Wow so this would be ppl who I’d compete with to get a spot to my dream school 😭? I’m an international student from Vietnam, and I study in an international school that follows the BRITISH curriculum (so igcse, as/a level), so I’m rlly struggling to navigate my way through the collegeboard and common app 🙃🙃. My school also doesn’t use GPA or class rank so yea. Thank goodness in my school, it’s not the 12th graders who graduate, but it’s the 13TH GRADERS (yea very weird but idk my school follows the british curriculum) who would graduate so I still have 1.5 years left to prepare (I’m currently in 11th grade and yes I’m currently preparing for college).

Your activity list actually looks quite realistic and manageable compared to all of the other insane and almost unachievable ECs that I see online all the time. So you give me hope a lot ty 😀😀. I’m very concerned about my awards cuz I dont rlly participate in competitions 🥲🥲.

I'm going to be a junior this year. So far, I have started a successful Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at my school, participated in debate, school government, and the school newspaper, and will be attending a NYT political journalism camp this summer. Plus lots of SAT prep and I also volunteer as a tutor. Hoping to get an internship soon. Thank you for the advice and encouragement :)

First of all, congratulations on getting into Harvard. Your hard work has made your dream come true. I am just concerned that other viewers will see the list of extraordinary EC accomplishments and feel bad about their own. This person clearly had a very robust support system unavailable to the vast majority of applicants. She put them to good use! Believe me, you don’t have to cure cancer to get into an Ivy League school.
