Oh, Rajiv! Yours are my tears... Paradoxically, I was also riding my bike, trying to catch up with other cyclist, a man with whom I shared my life for three decades, when I realized that I was totally alone. He never looked back to check on me! How could he never, ever, wonder if I was doing well? It was a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon, when a growing uncertainty invaded me... And I found myself crying. Not because I was lost, but because I realized that he did not care about my well-being. He even thought that I was being foolish when he saw me in tears after those long ten minutes passed when I finally found him. But I knew why I was crying. It was hurtful to acknowledge that I was not being loved the way I loved. After that day, I started to find other signs everywhere, and although it took me more than one year to decide, I left him. I understand your tears, my dear. Nostalgia invades me every time I look back to the pictures of whom I was before, to the time when I thought that I was being loved. But, you know what? I am happier now because I grew to understand that I deserve to be loved the same way that l love. And I started with me. To love me more, instead.❤

I love that your videos are not ‘off the cuff’; that you seemingly prepare them with great care; that there is a story arch; that we come back to the beginning, in the end. I get lost in your telling and learn so much about something that becomes meaningful to me because you point out how it is - meaningful. But I also learn about you - without you talking ‘one dimensionally’ about yourself. You weave universality into your humanity thereby making an intimate connection with each of your viewers. It’s amazing really. Profound. I have to confess that I have to make time and space in my soul and day for your videos because they are not fluff - they insist that I consider and reflect on a much deeper level. You are a teacher - thank you for sharing thoughts and musings and insights that are shaping you - it calls me to not waste a moment of my life. What a gift.

This week I thrifted a "3-floors" serving tray without putting much hopes in it but it turned out to be silver!! I dont have anyone to share with how much this made me happy, I think rajiv and our fellow followers here will appreciate it. It was super cheap, I think the owner didn't know its value (which makes me a bit sad but I don't have the money to compensate for it)

Even if you were on a new bike, he should have checked, because it was 2am, and because he was your friend. I'm sorry you had such a tough experience, though I expect you came away with a renewed sense of how important it is to be there in the little ways, for people you care about. 💜

Your story about bicycling with a friend over the bridge brought back memories of a similar episode for me. I was cycling with my then boyfriend... he had a much nicer bike than me and could easily peddle faster and further. He was well ahead when we rounded a corner, I admittedly was going faster than I probably should have been, trying my best to catch up. I hit a patch of loose gravel, lost control and then slammed into the post of a mailbox, going head over the handle bars on impact. Next it was the pavement, elbows first in bloody skid. The wind knocked out of me, I tried, but couldn't call out. Like your friend he had not and still was not looking back. He was unaware and well down the road, about to turn another corner before finally realizing I was no longer behind him. The bike and I were both a mess. Nonetheless, I managed to get up, brush myself off and was gathering up my bent up bike by the time he returned. Had I been more aware, I would have seen it as a warning message to me about someone whom I had already given more time to than I should have. It took a few more "lessons" though before I understood the significance of him not looking back...

Every time I watch your videos I cry. Every single time. There's always so much emotion that I feel and I appreciate the time and effort you made to make them. It is like talking to a family member or friend. Hope you have a lovely day. ☀️

I used to get really annoyed when walking in the city with my family — especially my dad. I wanted to walk freely and independently but, they would always be turning back and pulling me in front of them. And I was a grown adult — not a kid. I would say, “walk on I’m fine”, “let me be,” and “I’ll catch up.” And then one day I was waking just my sister and I and whenever we would cross the streets I would put my arm behind her and nudge her forward so I could have eyes on her while she crossed. And she snapped at me to stop shoving her and that she was fine crossing on her own. And right then there I realized what they were doing to me and why. Like I got why but only through doing it could I feel why. We both laughed about it and just felt grateful to know how deeply loved we were by one another. We don’t realize what we have a lot of the time. God bless the people that nag us about our safety and well being because they truly fucking care
