I'd never heard of Carl when I was growing up. When I was in my mid 20's, I was playing Quake with this girl I'd known through the game for years, and we were talking about space. She gave me a quote from Sagan and I told her I didn't know who that was. She linked me a youtube video from Pale Blue Dot, and I started doing some research on Sagan and shortly after I downloaded the entire Cosmos series and watched it back to back in the single day. Then I rewatched it the following week. It's 13 years later and I still have the entire series permanently on my hard disk, and I bought my Dad the boxed DVD set for Christmas and we watched it together a few times and talked about it before he passed away.

Carl should have been the President of the USA. A truely great man.

Carl Sagan is #1 on my list of personal heroes. He very greatly inspired my enthusiasm for science, astronomy, and cosmology, primarily through his work in Cosmos and also through his speeches and interviews like this. When I hear him speak it's like hearing a long lost friend.

This guy keeps interrupting Sagan. He needed to shut up instead of taking him down rabbit holes all the time.

Past the 26 minute mark makes me wish that Carl lived to see the Mars Rover photographs.

Confirmed small exoplanets in habitable zones.
(Kepler-62e, Kepler-62f, Kepler-186f, Kepler-296e, Kepler-296f, Kepler-438b, Kepler-440b, Kepler-442b) Sagan would have been delighted

I love how Carl just disses the station's commercials. That made me smile.

I think I would listen to Sagans accent and pronunciation, no matter the subject. His voice is very rounded and pleasant. 'Yoomans' is a personal favourite.

imagine the star registry guy. satisfied to have placed his compan's ad in an interview of Carl Sagan, the Astronomy titan. And then immediately afterwards, Carl Sagan goes on and calls it out for being a scam, no holds barred. He probably would've been better off without placing the ad at all. I imagine business pretty much tanked after this.

What humans will look like in a million years is THE most interesting thing to think about, but also, theres really no way of having any idea.

The way you present is well made I learned a lot from it.
