This was perfect for So Hyang since she has said that her goal is not wealth but to comfort those going through hard times, as she has done. She's a cancer survivor at age 20 and has had hep-C and numerous bouts with pneumonia of some form. She has turned down record deals so that she has the freedom to go where God leads. She speaks multiple languages, writes both fiction and non fiction books and has done extensive OST(original sound track) vocals for many dramas. She has taught at the university level. She and her team make all the arrangements for her contest appearances which demand innovative covers. She has been gifted with great talent and has put untold work to perfect her sound and performances. We are so blessed to have So Hyang to comfort and encourage us through these crazy times in which we live. At 46 we have several more years to see what is revealed through this remarkable person.

This song is originally by Simon and Garfunkel. Elvis just made a popular cover.

So Hyang is a devout Christian and gospel singer from South Korea. In her early and newly married, she was diagnosed with early stage uterine cancer, which left her unable to have children. After being healed by God and her doctors, So Hyang's goal has been to use her voice to bring comfort to people who are experiencing difficult times. She IS NOT motivated by either money or fame and remains very humble. She has rejected numerous offers from major record labels. In addition to being a published author of several fiction books, she lectures about singing and vocal techniques at a South Korea university.

So Hyang, her husband, and some assistants arrange every aspect of her live performances; the music, backing vocals, staging, lighting, etc.

When So Hyang sings in Korean, it is not necessary to understand the lyrics. She has the brilliant ability to convey the meaning/message of the song.

Alison, well, that was different from "Arirang" wasn't it? The single most consistent quality of Sohyang's performances is her total investment in her delivery. It may vary depending upon the genre, but she is a storyteller and loves to sing to us. That's why she performs Live. here in "Bridge", sweet Sohyang sings with everything she has. If you aren't left breathless at the end, you must have left the room. She will amaze you every time. You have done two. There is a world of her music left to go. Enjoy.
Cheers.

This was not an Elvis song. He covered it, but the original was Simon and Garfunkel.

You're not the first reactor: female or male ) to get moved to tears reacting to SoHyang. She's one of the best belters on the planet and she is my favorite female vocalists. SoHyang is also a very humble perso. I recommend "Lean On Me " for your next reaction to her.

I have seen this performance hundreds of times and it still gets me. Notice how So hyang sings with every inch of her body. She squares her shoulders and gets her feet strait below her shoulders for support. She is the only artist I’ve ever seen that actually gives more than 100 percent of herself without fear of an off note or a crack of voice. her confidence level is off the chart. She just goes for it, and that fearlessness is so much a part of her power for me. She is by far my favorite singer and much more.

This a song that Elvis sang but certainly not an Elvis song....... and I'm a big Elvis fan. This beautiful song was written by Paul Simon and first performed by Simon and Garfunkel, but this Sohyang masterpiece is the best I've ever heard it.......... even including Elvis :)
