I realized last night while watching this movie with my wife that "Agnes" is pronounced differently than how I pronounce it in this video. My mistake. I LOVE this movie and don't know why I didn't catch that. I hope you enjoy the video regardless. Cheers!

The last scene, where Hamlet is dying, and he said “The rest is silence”, we see Agnes and then the rest of the audience reach out to Hamlet.
The camera pans back and all the people reaching out look like leaves fanned out on a large tree in which Hamlet is the trunk.
The meaning may be that Agnes went into the forest alone to obtain plants to cure individual illnesses, but grief can only be cured by the community. The loss affects us all, hence the reaching out. Agnes is not in the forest alone with her grief, but is in a forest of people - a community, and as such she can heal.

I thought of how she told hamnet she could see him in a play with his father and would win a sword fight and in the end it came to be so

In interviews the costume designer said Agnes’s red clothing represents a beating heart. When she’s wearing brown, that represents a scab.

One Battle After Another might have won tonight, but I think Hamnet will ultimately be the film that is most remembered from this year. Brilliant directing, brilliant acting, brilliant cinematography. Such a worthy film. It should have won.

Will asks Agnes if she has any feeling of contact with Hamnet after his death and Agnes says 'no'. We see, while at the theater, Agnes' heart is open again toward the actor. Her loving openness enables her to have contact and see Hamnet which brings her great joy. "Keep your heart open". I've had this same experience myself in grieving. I understood this so well but this important insight seems to be absent in movie analyses I've read so far.

It hurts a bit that this world wasn´t ready for a play like this. This was a story diving into the soul, exploring our inner feelings and how we relate to them. One Academy Award was regrettable and showed how traditional story telling is rewarded before new paths. But I think this just reflects the world at large. Hamnet is one of my greatest movie experiences in life, and will remain in my heart like inalienable poetry.

Most beautiful film I have ever seen. I was in awe the whole movie and cried of the sheer beauty of it.

You missed the bees. They are meant to symbolise life between the two worlds of life and death. Their arrival is an omen. And notice how one pesky bee tends to linger and buzz about her

Absolutely loved this film. Im not a great Shakespeare follower, but the words, 'turn your heart to the sun' reminds me of a stone i painted for my daughter as she set off on a 9 month world tour. I was so worried for her! ...we'd never been apart other than a week or two holiday. I wanted to give her something to hold to remind her of me. On the stone I painted " turn your head to face the sun, and love will see you through". ❤ She got back safe and sound after many adventures. She was 23 then, now she's 47.....❤
