  In Rock and Roll, Stevie Ray Vaughan almost died from cocaine and alcoholism and checked himself into rehab and came out laser focused and released his best studio album In Step and was about to release another album when tragically he died in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin in 1990.<br><br>Syd Barrett started Pink Floyd and did one album and three singles with the band before his erratic behavior fueled by abuse of LSD caused the band to enlist his best friend David Gilmour to join the band and after five gigs as a five piece Roger Waters kicked him out. Then Syd made two solo albums and David produced them. Then Syd disappeared for five years and showed up at Abbey Road Studios in London where Pink Floyd were working on the followup to their blockbuster The Dark Side of the Moon entitled Wish You Were Here where Syd showed up obese and balding as they were mixing the song “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” which was about the rise and fall of Syd and the band members were left in tears upon seeing Syd. Then they would not ever see him again except for Roger Waters a number of years later in a grocery store in London. Syd passed away in 2006 from cancer and diabetes.<br><br>Linda Blair was on top of the mountain with The Exorcist and a number of successful made for TV movies. In her year long sabbatical in 1977 to focus on her first love (riding and showing horses in showjumping events) she attended the funeral of the Lynyrd Skynyrd members and bought cocaine from dealers who were also dog breeders. Then she was arrested in December 1977 at 18 for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and then in August 1978 was detained at customs for marijuana possession. She went to rehab and emerged clean and sober and having completed the rehab went on four years probation for the arrests and did anti-drug commercials and speeches to kids about the dangers of drugs. In fact her first rock star relationship sober was with Tommy Shaw of Styx and was with him from September 1979 to early 1982 when he cheated on her with her horse groomer and lied about his use of drugs (the whole Rick James thing was a lie that Rick fabricated in his book which he wrote after he relapsed back to using after his 1998 stroke which happened after his Behind the Music aired and his appearance on South Park).

  Movie stars can afford any drugs, &nbsp;which they use to supress apetite, so they can stay on their diet, or stay awake until they can go home the next morning.

  You do not need to be an icon of of anything. It effects Doctors, nurses, police etc etc A&amp;D does not discriminate.
